Rather than receiving a reproduction of an existing piece, you receive an original work individually brushed by the artist. The completed artwork is finished with a paper backing, known as urauchi, before it is inspected and prepared for shipping.
The product photographs show a sample of the composition. Your artwork will follow the same theme and overall visual direction, with natural variations in the brushstrokes, ink texture, and gold-colored details.
These differences are part of the character of a work made by hand.

Meet the Artist
Aiko Suzuki | Calligraphy name: Zuisen（瑞茜）
Aiko Suzuki is a Japanese calligrapher with 34 years of experience. She studied under a vice president of Gakushoin, a Japanese calligraphy organization, and has received awards at numerous exhibitions. While still in high school, she represented her calligraphy school and was honored in China.
Also active as an actor, Suzuki brings calligraphy into her theatrical work through stage design, lettering for promotional materials, and signage. For her, the brush is another means of artistic expression.
Her work also includes calligraphy for collectible history-themed cards featuring figures associated with Suwa and Japan’s Nanboku-chō period.
From the Artist’s Brush to Your Home
Once your order is placed, the artist creates your piece and completes the paper-backing process. The artwork is then sent to our office for inspection and packing before being shipped to you.
